Egg in a hole!

Here is one of my favorite recipe's for breakfast, simple but scrumptious, the amazing egg in a hole!  It's great for a Saturday breakfast becuse it's super easy and it feels like you put a lot into it when you actully made it in 15 minutes.

Melt the butter in a pan.  Don't burn it.  (I made that mistake one to many times.)  Do not use oil!!!  it toatally ruins it.

While your butter is melting cut a circle in the middle of the bread.  (You can use a biscuit cutter, cookie cutter or just cut it yourself like me).

Put the bread in the pan and crack an egg into the hole.  Cook it until you think it's cooked, then.............

flip it!

Cook it until you think its cooked all the way through but with soft insides............... then eat!  Enjoy!

Shrinky Dinks!

Here's a fun craft to do! Shrinky Dinks are a fun, easy,
and really quick craft to do. You can use them as necklaces, key chains, little art pieces or something different and they're all unique. They get so small that your friends will wonder how you got so much detail into them!

What you'll need:
Shrinky Dinks or Shrinky Dink paper (look for them at craft stores or online)
Pencils or markers
Oven
Cookie Sheet
non-stick aluminum Foil
Hole punch (optional)

What to do:
Preheat your oven to 325 f.
On your shrinky dink, color what ever you want on the rough side. If you write something on it make sure it's backwards, as you will look through it on the shiny side. If you mess up, it doesn't matter a ton what side you look thorough, it just looks a little better on the shiny side.

You can also cut them into shapes if you want to.

If you want make a necklace or keychain out of them, make sure use a hole punch before they go in the oven. Make three hole punches in a triangle shape because it will shrink.

Put the foil on the cookie sheet and the add the shrinky dinks. Put them in the oven. Don't be alarmed when they shrink and curl up, they almost always flatten out again. When they do flatten out again (this can take about 5 to 15 minuets), take them out and let them cool. If they don't flatten out again, try heating them up again and keep the edges from touching.

There you go! Enjoy your Shrinky Dinks!

Chocolate Sable Cookies

Cathryn found these delicious Chocolate Sable Cookies in San Francisco's Miette bakery and bought me the cookbook.  I tried making them and they turned out great!  We both love them and hope you do, too.  Try it for yourself at the Kitchn.
